 OBJECTIVES:

The Library Committee at Disha Law College aims to provide extensive reading facilities to all students and staff, fostering a strong culture of learning and legal scholarship. Its objectives include disseminating knowledge on diverse legal and interdisciplinary subjects, collecting and preserving research-oriented documents and materials of institutional significance, and maintaining archival records through modern preservation techniques. The committee also strives to enhance library services by publishing bibliographies, conducting book exhibitions, organizing academic seminars, and hosting other educational activities that promote intellectual growth. Additionally, the committee aims to promote the use of advanced online databases, such as ‘Supreme Today AI’, to facilitate access to up-to-date legal research and judgments.

FUNCTIONS:

1. Serve as a regulatory body to monitor and ensure the efficient functioning of the library.
2. Facilitate the acquisition of books, legal journals, magazines, and other resources, emphasizing specialized topics as required by faculty and students.
3. Promote the use of E-Learning platforms such as NLIST, SWAYAM, MOODLE, Net Surfing, and the National Digital Library for the advancement of digital learning.
4. Coordinate with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) to maintain and submit reports on library-related areas and NAAC metrics.
5. Encourage students and faculty to utilize ‘Supreme Today AI’, a premier legal database, for accessing the latest judgments, statutes, and research tools.
6. Develop and maintain a comprehensive catalog of books and resources for all departments.
7. Curate a selection of research-oriented books with a special focus on legal studies and allied subjects.
